Most circular needles seem to be a standard length but it doesn't matter that much: more stitches means more length and if you cast on loads when you start you should have enough. Some yarns have more stretch in them than others. I've ended up with scarves varying from 18" (45cm) to about 5' (150cm) from 60cm needles. I just made a rough one (without using the scrap yarn), and am going to make a proper scarf, once I get the right length circular needles. If you're buying circular needles, BUY TWICE THE LENGTH YOU REQUIRE since they are looped around when knitting. Thanks for the instructions!
